This was originally brown like the early David Brown tractor buckets but I painted it yellow many years ago because that's the color I had on hand. After being stored outdoors it was rusting pretty bad. So after some scraping I painted it brown again. Not as dark as the original but that's as close as I could come with Tremclad. That date on the floor and line is where the sun comes into the garage at it's highest. The door opening faces south and I also have lines for the equinoxes and winter solstice. Anal, I know.
Cool! Would you mind sharing how you did this? Did you use a paint thinner, or the like, to remove existing paint? Is the new paint sprayed on?
Trek lad is the Canadian version of Rust-o-leum. I once painted a fire truck Safety Red with a foam roller.
I just scraped off the loose paint and lightly sanded the rest, then wiped it all down with naptha to get rid of any dust and oil. Then just brushed it on. It only took about an hour and a half and it looks so much better. I look upon it as equipment housekeeping. Guido is right, Trem Clad is made by Rust-O-Leum.
I know they say rust o lium is a protectant and not really a paint and fades bad. Does it still fade if you clear it?
Your garage floor looks good too. What kind of paint did you use on the floor? Did you do any special treatment to the floor before painting? Have you been satisfied with the durability? I am considering painting my garage floor. Thanks for your advice.
