One that I'll never forget. Service manager was selling an egr valve. He told the customer that part prevented exhaust gas from getting into the cabin compartment. :hair: Looking back now, that's when i should've walked away.

Stick shifts need oil changes too :D
I don't know anyone that was able to make enough to stay...and I can think of a half dozen, myself included that moved on to similar work in either private industry, or government jobs...the one guy specifically was/is an extremely good troubleshooter, went on to be a heavy equipment operator, and now is our county bridge inspector...which I'm sure he is very good at, but still, his troubleshooting talent wasted.
I personally only know of one independent shop around here that has any kind of reputation for some solid troubleshooting (not just loading the parts cannon)

Yup they do need service but not a 250$ transmission flush.

The guy I know that’s still at the dealership cleared 6 figures last year without being shady. Without him the place would be sunk and both parties know it. They would pay up to hire a solid guy if they could find one. Anybody that’s any good is taken care of, there is a reason all the others bounce around.

I go in there for parts occasionally and always get asked when I’m ready to come back. I would honestly bag groceries before I did that again.

Exactly how I ended up back at the bike shop the second time...big mistake.
I wouldn't have considered it but they had moved/built a new building and my former coworkers that were still there confirmed that things had truly changed...the first 6 months were fine, then I dunno what happened, but back to same old same old...it took me another 18 months to get gone again, but it was permanent after that!
