The beans just sprouted, 11 of them already discovered them and doing their best to destroy this years crop. I think I killed a total of 9 off this field last winter. Trust me when I say, if I have a pic of 11 in the field at once, there is atleast 11 more in the woods that arent out yet.
Beans took off with big rains, but once u get on this side of hill/power lines the deer damage is overly obvious hahha
Some sika deer... 2 weeks yesterday and it opens. Getting close. I will be ready tomorrow, I have to brush hog a foot trail at other farm to a creek, and brush cut the phragmites that are in the creek so I can cross to get to a stand. Other than that, time to let some arrows fly!!
Rain rain go away... traveled to maine for work, went out today trigger happy.. first thing i saw was dying!!
Just curious, are you down on the Eastern shore? I was stationed on Chincoteague from 2004-2008 and I used to see sika by the truck loads on there and back on rt.12 Those power lines look familiar to me...
Awesome to already have one in the freezer. I see you're in MD and on the eastern shore. I am across the bay and have never gotten into the sitka hunting yet. I want to start making a yearly trip over to attempt to get one. Would love any tips or help you might be able to provide. Oh and feel free to hit me up if you need any help thinning out those whitetail.
The skeeters were so bad the photo wasnt important to me hahaha Notch #2... im a bit behind but ive been on the road a bit for work, plus we had to put our dog down after 13yrs with us so a few days of down time.
Real sorry about your dog man. Always a horrible time. When I lived in Frederick Co. I had friends go down your way for the Sika deer. All they talked about was the skeeters.
I whacked a Sika hind this evening... the hypo really sliced her open. also got pics of the lab pups we are going to pick from Sunday.
So is that number 3 for you? Awesome! I’m jealous. Where I am, it’s 1 and you’re done. Doesn’t matter if it’s a buck or a doe. You get 1.
Yes... we have a wee bit more agriculture here than Maine does... that means loosing $$, and way higher populations. I average 15-25 a year.
