But it forgives me & run great anyway. Oil in gas tank .... gas in oil tank.... Left bar nuts loose.... Lost bar nuts, now carry extra... Chain on backwards .... Swap chain, but put same chain back on.. Pull starter rope till arm sore , then turn Then run/stop to run.... Pull & pull , troubleshoot & see I forgot to put spark plug wire back on....
I believe we have all done some of them. I will claim: Lost bar nuts, now carry extra... Chain on backwards .... Swap chain, but put same chain back on..
If you run a saw long enough you will put a chain on backwards even when your thinking your paying attention. Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
Lose bar nuts . Bring the wrong spare chain. Forget to put the oil cap on Forget to put the gas cap on . Forgot to bring the saw .
I've never done any of those things............. Can't tell you how many times I've overfilled either the fuel or oil, thinking I had it juuuuuust right......then BAM! I should buy stock in a paper towel company. Filing chain so the saw cuts circles in a log....I got REAL gooder at that for a while (I only cut semi-circles now).
Oil in gas tank, didn't try to start it at least. Forgot oil cap a time or two covering everything in oil. Cutting a large elm stump and moved the truck so it was blocking most of the street when a bus just had to get past. Gunned the truck and dumped my 660 out of the back. Loading some wood with the liftgate and knew I should move my 365 as the lift was going up. Yep, dropped a piece of wood on it and broke the back handle. I'm sure there is plenty more.
Left one of our small dogs out at the cutting site once. Got home to find out we just had two dogs not three, so we went back out to the cut site and there she was lying where we left her. We'd been gone for two hours. She'd got in on my side and we guess that she got right back out on Woodwidow's side. We do a doggie head count every time we start off anywhere with either vehicle now.
Oh yeah, been there done all those!! Love when you refill the oil, fire the saw up, feel or smell oil, hmmmmm didn't put the cap on tight, same for the gas, refill it, fire it up, go to cut wood, smell lots of gas. Didn't tighten cap down. That feeling of warm oil running down your leg, with your chap's trapping most of it, oh, boy, what a feeling. Left the saw wrench at home as well, does it ever end? If it did, it would probably make cutting wood pretty dull, lol.
I've done most as well LOL. Never left a dog though, that's a new one. I have all my gear in my cutting truck at all times. Saws, tools, water, helmet, chaps etc. Turn the key & go without having to remember everything. Saves a lot of time & headache.
"Pull starter rope till arm sore , then turn The run/stop to run...." Guilty "...overfilled either the fuel or oil, thinking I had it juuuuuust right......then BAM! I should buy stock in a paper towel company." Uhm... Yep. It's like a special day when I don't do that. But those paper towels make great starters for the outdoor fire.
I need to find that Buckin Billy Ray video someone posted from I guess his GTG where he can't start a dollar, assumes it's flooded. He changes carb settings, pulls plug still can't get it. The kill switch was off. Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
Pull and pull then realize that the saws empty or darn close is a good one I've done. It's usually after cutting and trying to restart. I'm getting better though... 2-3 pulls and I check the fuel. Leaving the spark plug out is a good one for me especially on big old saws that have been sitting and need completely primed. I put a few drops of mix straight in the cylinder get distracted and forget to put the plug back in.
Chain on backwards Forget to bring bar oil, cut for one tank full then I was done for the day. Pull start the splitter till I'm gassed only to realize the switch was in the off position.
