Have been doing a lot of paracord stuff. Really having fun. Started creating a number of Thin Blue Line stuff. Back the Blue if you will. I gave a few to some friends but they continued to stack up. So, one day, on my bike ride, I passed a couple of cops. Me thinks..... why not? So, I hung a few on my aero bars....just in case..... I had my 6th officer BtB contact today. Jeffco Deputy at Welchester School parking lot. The reactions seem to be following a pattern. First look/expression is....what now? When I hand them the bracelets, usually 6 clipped together, it takes a few seconds to comprehend what they are. I tell them I make them and please accept them w/our thanks and appreciation for their service and a prayer for their safety. There is a pause as this hits home. Then, I saw it plainly today, a wave of emotion washes over them. When he said thanks, I heard it in his voice and saw it in his eyes. I created six more when I got home. Do something nice for a cop tomorrow.
Thank you for doing this, and for sharing justdraftn!!! My father was a 20 year veteran of the Suffolk County, NY police department (ret’d 1989). I would buy one from you for him, but sadly he took his own life last year on November 5th 2019... maybe I’ll apply to you for one regardless of this tragedy. My brother in law is a PO in Cleveland- I think he would appreciate it.
This is what these men and women of law enforcement need. A act of kindness and friendship i'll bet that will go a long ways with the people you give them too. Thank you very much for thinking of them, let alone giving them some thing as neat as that is.
Thanks for sharing your talent with others. Means alot when they know someone is thinking posi8 of them.
I've taken to stopping at police traffic details, at DPW road work areas. I put my window down and thank them for doing what they do. Some are shocked. Mostt reply with a nod of the head and a thank you. I've done this recently at polling places, and most anywhere I see a cop on patrol. It's hardly an effort on my part. Give it a try. Unless there's a picture of yourself hanging in the local post office.
Good on you for doing this justdraftn! That is an awesome idea! Eric VW I hope time heals you as much as it can. I can't imagine police work has ever been an easy job, especially in today's America. I pray your brother in law stays safe.
Excellent work justdraftn ...cops have really gotten pooped on this year...they deserve/need our support.
I'd like to buy a couple in honor of your dad, one for you, and one for your BIL...and would be honored to hand deliver it to him (if you aren't going to see him in the near future) on behalf of you, justdraftn , and NEO FHC members.
Thank you for this, the job definitely has it days that leave you absolutely speechless. I will say I definitely appreciate seeing any sign of law enforcement support. Thank you again.
To date I have now had 12 officer contacts. I have given out ~70 bracelets. Last one was last Sat. A Jeffco deputy I stopped a couple of weeks ago said he had seen the bracelets around the station. I am looking forward to a contact and the officer will be wearing one of my bracelets.
