The Official 2016 FHC Secret Santa Gift Exchange Signup Thread

The annual tradition is back!! It is time for the 4th Annual Firewood Hoarders Club Secret Santa Gift Exchange.

For the past three years we have had an organized gift exchange at FHC. This year will be no different. The way it works is everybody who signs up is given a recipient to whom you send a gift of some sort. The gift can be anything, it need not be on topic with FHC. Part of the fun is reading through someone’s posts trying to figure out what they might like. If you are going to the store to buy something the suggested spending limit is $40. Shipping is on you. On the other hand there is no minimum, creativity reigns. There were some awfully cool handmade gifts passed around in the past two years and I would expect to see that again.

Gift certificates or other electronic entitlements are OK, but please get them sent to yourself and then forward it on to your victim, open up a new email account to remain anonymous if you wish. That way if there is a problem with non-receipt, spam filters or whatever, you will be able to straighten it out quite easily.

Participation is open to everybody. All that is asked is that you have a significant enough ‘footprint’ in posts so that someone can have fun figuring something about you and get you a gift that is appropriate. It could be that an introductory post about yourself has the clue. Sometimes the clue is one little thing that you said in a long forgotten post that gets you the surprise that you didn’t even think you needed. Or it’s what you never said that is the clue that you are missing something.

Here's what you do if you would like to participate:

1. Post a reply in this thread so that people can know who is participating. Figuring out who sent you a gift is half the fun.
2. Send an email to me at [email protected]. The subject of the email is Secret Santa. In the body put your FHC user name, your real name and a delivery address.

Signup will be closed on Sunday, November 27. At that point I will put everyone’s name in the digital hat, shake it up and assign recipients. The list will get adjusted if need be so that no moderator gets a moderator, and I’ll do my best so that there are no duplicates from years past.

Gifts should be sent to arrive by December 19. Please allow time for transit in shipping.

I look forward to your participation. This is going to be a lot of fun. Please look for the official “what I got” thread where you can post your thank you notes. That way every giver knows things were received.
