Not sure how this happened, never even really used this thing all that much but I filled out the Fiskars online warranty info and hopefully they'll send me a new one! Curious how that might work though since these are out of stock on their site. Hopefully it doesn't take a year to get the replacement... Anyone else every broken their Hookaroon under normal usage?
I have one but havent had it long or used it that much. Brother has had one for a number of yrs and and no problem so far. They have a great warranty, shouldnt be a problem.
I dont own one, but broke my Fiskars X27 axe a couple years ago Took pics, filed the online warranty and two weeks later had a new one in hand. I Imagine its the same for any of their hand tools. With Covid it may be delayed. Let us know how it goes.
That fiskars hookaroon is one of my favorite tools! I hope that mine lives forever. Keeps us updated about the replacement.
Haven't heard a word yet after a week, luckily I don't use the hookaroon that often anyway. I do expect delays due to COVID like basically everything else in our lives now.
Once your new warranty model shows up, I do believe I would be taking a grinder or buffing wheel to the old one and do a little re-shaping. Then I'd have 2 hookaroons.
Well still no response from Fiskars on this, over a month later. May just have to call. I almost have a feeling its one of those things that will just randomly show up in the mail though at some point.
Sounds like a good idea. Ill bet covid has messed things up for them. If you said they were out of stock, it may delay further.
I had this exact break happen to my fiskars hookaroon. No idea how it happened, just one swing and it stopped working. I did the warranty and sent the picture. They didn't ask me to return it. Just check my emails. Submitted Warranty on 08/28/2020. I emailed them again on 09/25/2020 after hearing nothing. They responded and said they were working on it. I received an email saying it shipped 09/28/2020, and it arrived later that week. So about a month start to finish. Hope you get yours in the mail soon.
That's reassuring. In my case it's really not a critical tool, I don't use it much, but it sure can be handy to have for certain jobs.
Just got an email yesterday out of the blue that the replacement has shipped! All in all about 2 months from the time I submitted the claim. Not a big deal time wise since I haven't needed it anyway, just glad they actually did receive the claim and do something about it.
Thats great news. Glad they finally came through. Like a lot of things ill bet covid had something to do with it.
