So for those of us that can't afford a stump grinder and are already on a watch list for explosions really limits the ability to have fun removing a stump. Unless you use a leaf blower!

Most of the time the ground is so moist its just gonna rot naturally. Otherwise if it sits in a really exposed area, this could work.

 a leaf blower works great for turning a smoky fire into flames , used it many times :fire::dennis:

Once, I drilled a dozen holes in a stump. For a week every day id pour a mix of heating oil with some gas on the stump.
When I lit it, it burned for a week. A spot over there a spot here would be smoldering. Like a candle wick.

Stumps are a pain in the balls. Think they rot? Try a 24 inch black locust stump! I dug down around it a year prior and drilled lots of holes and put slices in it. Then it dried a year and I used some diesel fuel and got coals from my stove. I can't tell you how many hours that sucker burnt for but it burnt longer than a blaze king! Even used a leaf blower.

I use the leaf blower technique when burning ash bark...pretty much the only way that crap'll burn!

I just hired a young guy come and remove mine the Old Fashioned way. (also a very good drink). He only charged me $1 per inch. at 230 inches,, he was WAY cheaper than the 2 other bids I got
