My wife and I went to dinner the other night in VT. Ended up at a place we hadn’t been to in 10+ years. Long story short, excellent meal; new owners since the last time we went.

We were seated right near this old Jotul 3. Same one I grew up with. What a flashback! Neat to see this one still in service.

There was a coffee house in Sturbridge ma, had balcony seating and food made to order. Students and adults hung out there to computerize, study, hang out. Best part was the open hearth that they ran in winter months. Closed a couple years ago, just after I found it, and started going there regularly.

For those who read this. The place had a huge two sided fireplace. The splits had to be three feet long. They had them cribbed stacked just outside the door. I would bring a log or two in when we went there and they actually let me put them on the fire. Warmer months no fire of course.

They tore it down and now a tire place. The big oaks are still standing though.

We loved that place. Good times and hated to see it go away.
Great fireplace and that thing burned constant in cooler weather. In the summer they used to put sand in the bottom and make it a beach scene with a bunch of small figurines.
