Had a big storm roll through about a week ago. It was one of those we get here in Northern Indiana every now and then. 60 mile an hour winds that wacked about a 1/2 mile wide by 3 mile strip through our area. Lasted about 6 minutes. Neighbor had a Hickory come down and being the resident woodpecker in our neighborhood I got it. hickory 1.jpg Hickory 2.jpg

There's a lot of great wood there! The roots snapped off pretty good. Give us some pictures of the inside, when you slice it up.

Ummm yeah, you don't get any closer of a fall without serious damage.

How big around is that hickory?

Oh yeah. My wife and I spent a couple years in northern Indiana so we know what those storms are like. Nasty.

Neighbor was a bit lucky there and you too. Sometimes it is nice being the neighborhood woodpecker!

I'm sure it's better than being the neighborhood peckerwood. :D
