Home heating oil on the rise!!
Winter heating costs could rise an average 10.5%

What is the cheapest way to heat DHW??

Glad we switched from Big Boo (Buderus G-115WS/4 with Techmar Control 260 and indirect SuperStor to Harmy P61a pellet stove for heat that also helps preheat the SuperStor tank and Elly Eco Smart pulling from the Indirect SuperStor for DHW!!!
    See EcoSmartie install
EcoSmart 27kw IHW installation - any tips?

This is heating with Noil - That is No Oil !!

Price of gas went down but diesel hasn't budged while the oil barrel is nose diving, go figure:whistle:
Theoretically the fuel is dropping and diesel is holding so yes it's on the rise:D

Don, your chart stops at the first qtr. of 2016.

Here is the 5 yr. price history, using delivery to Long Island terminal as an example:

Looks like it went up a lot already since 2016
My neighbor behind me paid $2.59 per gal about a month ago and I would have paid 2.74 a gal a week ago and today my next door neighbor paid $2.79 per gallon so that looks to me like it is going up at least in my neck of the woods.
Anyway I have 1/2 of a tank left that could last indefinitely if I do not turn the valves back to use it! So in the meantime I will just be an On looker to the price of oil and if it goes down to $2.00 per gal then I might start using it again. :) LOL

Just ordered oil today. It's not the cheapest in the area, but I have a good service plan. $2.91/gal.

My service plan is when the burner does not fire and the reset button does not work, I Vacuum out the fire chamber and I change the oil nozzle. If the spin filter is a few years old, I shut off the ball valve replace it and bleed the line! :) Cheap! Cheap!!

Pic 1&2 - The fouled oil nozzle that made my boiler’s burner quit firing! LOL
Pic 3&4 - Oil filter’s Guage says I am good for now :)

$2.44/9 here for 200-300 gal. That's not terrible in my book.

Unfortunately for this situation, I'm a meat cutter by trade. I can grill, smoke, ( its legal here! ), smoke ribs, and I like fishing. I have no problem taking my Hastings apart. But when it comes to the oil burner, I leave that to the pros!

Oil " Crashed " to $46.50 area this afternoon. I see gas in my area in 2.37 range. Im on natural gas, and that isn't following oil at all.

The local 7-11 is selling pellets (LG), it doesn't look like they've broken open the pellet wrappers yet.
IF prices rise, they might sell some

Off topic, but I don’t know how diesel as a transportation fuel can compete with gas at least by me. It’s .35-.50 cents more a gallon.

I forget what it said, being a wood burner it didn't stick in my head.
The 7-11 is in North Londonderry next to the bus station by exit 5 off 93
