Ok, so I put the Stihl to work today.
    :saw:

    Thing runs great..
    Once it's running.

From a cold start, I've gotta pull that thing at least 30 times.
    :faint:

Once it's been running, first or second pull & it's fired up and ready to rock.
    :dex:

This can't be normal is it??

Have you adjusted the carb? Fresh fuel? Any concern that compression might be low?

    Have not adjusted carb.

    Fresh fuel put in today.

Haven't checked compression, don't have my own tester.

We got this saw through the raffle for leadfarmers daughter. I generally run the Poulan as it starts pretty easy.

But, I wanted to use it today.

Once running, can't ask for a better saw, but getting from cold start to running is a bit irritating.

I bet after adjusting the Carb it will start easier. Where did it come from, just curious. Altitude and temperature differences can make perfect settings not so perfect in the new location.

I would say turn the L screw out a half a turn and see what it does for you.

The choke linkage isn't closing the butterfly completely. Bend it a little straighter and it'll push it further

Took off air filter, and yes B'fly valve was still open a bit, tweaked it, 6 pulls to a run.

I will be adjusting the carb some, but glad it starts in less than a dozen pulls.

    Thx guys

Yeah, no need to be worn out before the saw is running.
