Finally found one in good condition for a good price. 034 AV Super, made in West Germany, old school meets new school.

This saw has maybe 50 hours on it, tops. Guy says he used it all of 5 times, and it shows. P&C are clean, similar to my 036. I was looking for a 310 for my nephew, but this 034 is a way better saw for him for the money ($250).

For $250? I'd buy one everyday. Thats a money maker, even after he uses it for 5 yrs!

Yah, I know what saws to jump on. 034 Supers are not so well regarded around here. If it was an 036/360 and I would have had to fight for it.

I thought the West Germany badge was weird, as I have seen other 034s made in the US, or just Germany.

My 034 says West Germany. Might be a different starter on yours or an early model.

Why the heck is the 034S poo poo'd in your area if the 036/360 is prized? Not too much is different IIRC? Disp is the same, I dunno about port timing if that was altered at all. Minor differences in mufflers, tank vents and air filters I believe.

I think the 034's get a lower value simply because the 036 was the holy grail of 60cc saws forever. I had an 034 super that I put together a while back, sold it to one of our illustrious pallet burning mods here. Was a great saw, & will run with my 036 pro no problem. I'd buy another one in a hot minute if it came up at a reasonable price. A C
