Trying to keep the skeeters or black flies away?

Black files have been out a few weeks down here. Deer flies will be here before you know it too.

Nice looking pics . Our skeeters are not out in full force, but with the wet weather we have been getting?? It's probably gonna be a bad year for them. :(

Right where I want to be.
We're getting the little gnats and the skeeters just started.
Still no ticks for me, but a neighbor said they're out in droves.
    Got any updated pics?
You've been out there at least an hour.
ETA: N/M. I waited too long to post.

The bugs are all kinds of bad here. I'd rather forget my chainsaw than my bug spray if I went out cutting.

Mike, I never sit when splitting. Always moving. And have no desire to pick up rounds and split horizontal. Pile is close enough, I split for a while and turn machine off, and then stack for a while.

    Bret, skeeters!

D.D. Thanks, making some progress. Break time for a bite to eat and cold Mountain Dew. It usually goes cold soda, then 1/2 hour cold water, then 1 more hour cold soda, and keeps repeating like that. LOL

Dave. More pics to come after lunch. 1-ish

Lukem, luckily I'm right behind the house. Spray wasn't far.

The skeeters aren't too bad....yet. The gnats are WICKED this year and regular DEET spray doesn't seem to phase them. I found some stuff that works pretty good on the gnats, but it makes me smell like a 16 yo girl...vanilla and mint.

Got a little split and stacked. Some nice size Pine and Ash. I remembered possible rain later today. It's time to switch gears and mow all of this grass at the camp. First time this year.

Working great so far. Starts right up on first or second pull. Fast. Love the auto return. Just touch the handle up and it goes back to the top position while you bring the next round in. Sweet. I haven't tried splitting horizontal with it yet. But now that I have cleared a path between stacks and pile of rounds I can see trying it that way. I can pick the rounds that aren't too heavy right off the pile at about the same height and just turn with them and set them on the splitter. We will give that a try the next time.

While I was cutting the grass I stopped and turned off the mower. I was sending a text to my nephew and my phone rang. It was the school nurse. My littlest one had a stomach ache. UGH. This has been going around here. She had it already. Which is weird. Then her sister got it. And now she apparently got it again. ? Anywho, Dad had to go pick her up at school and take her home. Unfortunately both the girls have their dance recital tonight. The spend 9 months dancing and this is the big ta do for the year. Bummer. Both are suppose to go get their hair all done up right after school. :( for her. She knows how to look at it though. She thought about it for a while on the way home and said, "Daddy, if I can't go to my recital I could put on a play for you guys at home and do my dances for you. :DThat's right kiddo. Yes you can. 7 y.o.

Liking it just fine Dex. Nice and quick. Unfortunately I did not get enough time to split with it today. Tomorrow I am working overtime again on my day off. Ugh. But, taking the extra money when I can. We are taking a long weekend vacation this summer, 5 days, and renting a cabin up in the mountains for four nights. Nephew is getting married right up near there, so two birds with one stone type of thingy. Should be a blast. Saving up some money for that weekend and finishing paying for the splitter.

That's too bad she's feeling lousy Gas. Looks like you'll get a chance to see the show anyway... Hopes she's better soon.

Glad you like the new tool. Makes splitting something to look forward to... :axe:

I got to do two things I like for a while Stinny. Splitting and mowing grass. And after a while of splitting and stacking the sitting on the mower feels like a nice break.

Unfortunately I won't get to see my older daughter in her recital. But her Mom will get me some good pics. Son has a baseball game tonight as well. I'll be staying home with the little one. She is now sound asleep.

Sleep is good when ya feel like crap... ;)

I enjoy mowing most of the time too. My front lawn has a sag full of water, so it's been more like boating, but...

I noticed a pic that had the corner of your cabin in it. Got a good pic of it? Looks like a nice spot.
