I say you catch more with honey, so I got out the old bees wax! Then I cleaned and waxed the hinge pins, 30 in all. Now quiet as a mouse!
That stuff has a smell that I would not want in my house. I use it on our vehicle’s wifey says it smell like sour milk!
I know a commercial door hardware installer who keeps a jar of Vaseline in his kit to quiet hinges and lube the inner workings of door knobs.
Yeah I spray rather liberally on the undercarriage I could see how a quick swipe would be less noticeable. Tho the missus has an incredible nose.
campinspecter calls it McLube but I think it is called Sailcote. Works well on everything but especially zippers.
Update! The Bees Wax was an old carpenter trick that did help for a while. It does pick up dirt and gets harder. So now they are back squeaking again. So this time I got something more binding! Not the cheap generic brand, not the name brand bargain can, not even the middle of the road works in many cases brand! I pulled out all the stops and went all in on the top of the line Premium High Temperature Stainless Steel Never-Seez Maybe this time, for the first time, we will win?? Pic 1. Clean Pic 2. Paste Pic 3. Install Hopefully this will make for a nice quieter Memorial Day weekend! LOL
Powdered graphite works for while, but also gets all over you like Never-Seize. I like to let exterior doors make some noise if the squeak is already present…….
