As spring makes it's way north and nature awakes from winter slumber, beauty is revealed. How about sharing your views here. I don't know the name of this bush, but it blooms early and has a citrus smell. The camellias are really showing off. About all we have blooming so far.
Your first picture - Quince? We are several weeks away from flowers. Although, crocus do make an early appearance.
Mom's place is blooming. She has crocuses and snowdrops out and two Christmas roses. I have bulbs coming up but no blooms yet.
No sir, that on down in FLA with Brandon Scott We saw about 18-19° earlier this winter...we just don't usually get any snow here.
Beautiful flowers. We're a bit away from seeing any pop up yet where I am. The first sign of spring I'll see in my own yard is my Egyptian Walking Onions start to perk up. They're under a couple inches of snow now but usually by mid-late March they'll start sending up new shoots. Soon afterwards the crocuses make an appearance, and once the dandelions come, spring is in full swing. I can already feel that outdoor sunshine is stronger than it was just a few weeks ago.
Here in this little corner of the woods where a spring is bubbling up I found a patch of skunk cabbage making it’s first appearance.
Anything like this is still a few weeks away here. You did remind me to get my seeds started for peppers though.
Not only Mom has flowers. I have snowdrops and heather blooming. There are garlic shoots up as well. I realized as I uploaded the pictures that my parsley is coming along really well. I planted it about four years ago and it just keeps reseeding itself.
TurboDiesel well the snow has melted off the garlic container. Although there is still a few inches of snow around the contain. Still below freezing at night. They should be coming up pretty soon. Will be interesting to see how many I lost. Are yours up yet?
Ours were up in the fall. Julie tried to keep them covered with leaves. Not sure if there's any leaves left on them. The snow just melted off the last 2 days.
I saw some hostas poking through in some landscape at a restaurant yesterday. Some trees are getting buds.
Looking forward to seeing the trees we planted last spring and then watered through the summer and fall. The fence posts each mark a tree. Hard to tell from this perspective, but Norway Spruce and Larch.
Are the spruce bare root seedlings? Any deer damage from the winter? We had quite a few spruce here that died many years ago. Only one left and I'd like to plant some more.
Yes, bare root, about a foot tall. There was no deer damage over the summer. Right now the deer are yarded up, but this spot is one of their favorites, so I’ll know soon enough. The spruce looked the best over the summer. I lost several larch to drought (likely did not firm the hole backfill well enough). Also planted balsam fir, and most of those were looking ok before the snow.
Time to add a few more pictures. 1 of our irises has bloomed Our red plum tree I think this is forsynthia Our pear tree Some wisteria along a dirt road My mom's blooming cherry
