    I ran the 665 today and finished the carb swap on the 7900 today. I ran them both in the same log. There's a decent difference in power between them right now. The 7900 is sporting a different piston now too. I think the 7900 needs more aggressive chain. I was pushing pretty hard on it in the video.

    It's a nice running stock saw. I hope to get some more logs that I don't want to mill to test on. I want to keep playing with the 7900 and then my 046 is getting put back together with a D chamber cylinder with finger ports.

    That 7900 does sound good.

    Is it all stock (besides muff mod)?

    665 still sounds mean. I want to open my muffler so bad. But I am taking the advice of members here to run it stock for a longer period. :thumbs:

    The 7900 has got a different carb and piston along with some port work. I don't think you'll gain anything besides noise with one.

    One thing that really stands out to me in all these vids is how wimpy the Stihl saws sound. Those Solos and Dolmars just sound much more impressive, and the Huskys seem to fall in between.

    I do understand that noise don't cut wood :saw:

    I'll video the 046 in the same log when I pt it back together. We'll see how it compares.

    Nice saws! Really like the 7900 and it does sound great - it's on my short list if I ever get to a larger saw - not a need at this point, but as serious want! Cheers!

    Wait about 30 years and these will be Large saws and the 088 will be something that you wondered why you ever used a saw that big and heavy. Your favorite saws will be the 30 and 40cc models.

    If I wasn't milling a 70 or 80 cc would be as big as I would want to use. I still don't use the 50cc one much either. My dad likes it and he's 30 years older than me. He will still use the 70cc ones though if the wood is much over 12".
