Really like the M&P line of pistols from Smith & Wesson. Great ergonomics, pleasant to shoot and mine has been dead nuts reliable. I have improved upon it some. Ameriglo Pro glo front sight, 10-8 performance U notch rear sight, and stippled grip. Also have a Nebo tac light for better night time target acqusition. This my go to platform for our local USPSA matches.

The wife has the shield version. Nice compact size.

I have a shield as well. Like it so much i'm looking to pick up another. You know the old saying, "One is none, and two is one."

I prefer the Springfield xds myself. The shields are nice. I do like the 40c feel in my hands. I need some range time with one to decide if I want one.

M&P is a great line from S&W. My son has the shield 9mm and loves it. I shot with it a couple times and it was nice, just hard getting the feel of a subcompact for me.
Hickok45 had nice things to say on one of his videos about the M&P's too

Heck yeah Smokinpiney! I got my m&p .40 about a year ago and loved everything about it...except the trigger. Few months ago ordered a trigger kit from apex tactical and couldn't be happier with the results.

edit: oh, and that is a beautiful gun GrJfer!

Yeah, I have shot a friends M&P 45 and liked everything about it but the trigger. That Apex trigger looks sweet!

Well ask him to engineer a carbine rifle in 9mm/40s&w that uses m&p pistol mags.

Apex triggers are nice for sure. I however have not found the need to change mine. After some trigger time all of them have smoothed out nicely, while the reset is not as crisp as others it is a non issue for me. I have paid attention to it during range sessions, but during matches I never notice the lack of or presence of the reset. Rounds down range is money well spent to me.

The only thing I don't like and have debated changing is the hinge trigger. The Apex glock style trigger is very nice, and would fit that bill nicely.

I hear you Gr. The trigger on my m&p was definitely not horrible out of the box but after shooting my buddy's 9mm with the apex, I just had to do it.
