Tree guy had a pile in his secret parking lot. Told me to grab the white birch. I picked up a few pieces of linden and cherry as well. One truckload, not quite full.

Back felt good and took my time. No pain whatsoever. Yay!

Last pic is a small limb of walnut (according to the tree guy). I will make him a wooden spoon out of it.

    Did some minor cookie cutting.

Nice little score there! What i wanna know is how do you get Mrs. LOTF to clean up after you make firewood? Is that her in pic #4?

That is my 9 year old daughter actually.

She wanted to sweep......and then complained when I told her she wasn't done sweeping.

"I don't want to sweep EVERY little piece of sawdust! I just wanted to sweep a LITTLE bit daddy!"

No worries. The most the Mrs. has done is actually bring wood in from the stacks or the IBC cages into the house and stack 'em.....Which is fine by me.....because I enjoy every part of processing wood.......dare I say.......even the stacking!

I agree with everything but the stacking. It's not my favorite thing but its gotta get done.

I don’t mind the stacking, but I am not OCD on it. It may not be pretty, but it is stacked. “Now, get to drying!”.

    Yep!

While I do handle 1 or 2 pieces at a time when doing the walls of the holz hausen, I don't get all crazy about the middle and just toss splits in there. Some people stack it vertically inside there or make smaller rings. As you said it's stacked and it's drying so that's my goal as well.
