Im using cooking to pass some time in the evenings. I wanted to make something hearty for supper that would give us leftovers for another meal. I cooked carrots, onions, celery and potatoes in a cast iron pan and added spices. About 15 minutes later, in went some gravy and cut up chicken. Cooked until thickened and bubbly. Poured into a pie plate with ready crust. 45 minutes in the oven. Rolls went into a Griswold "Iron Mountain" pan which is a budget pan and a little thin. The rolls cooked very well. This was a winner of a meal. I should have added a little more gravy.
It is. We have had a steady wind all weekend right through today. No sun made it even more dreary. Almost no leftovers.
