Have had this stove laying around for 15ish years, probably was bought used at that time. Was wondering if anyone knew much about them? I was thinking as others suggested a welded in baffle would be well placed, then also a pipe baffle. Any thoughts, experience, etc would be appreciated.

I've heard of them and only seen one in an antique shop, "working" . Pretty neat! Putting a baffle in wouldn't take much at all. I wouldn't baffle the pipe, to much restriction. There were "MANY" off shoots of the Fisher when they hit the market, that stove I believe is one of those. With a little research I'm sure you can find lots about it. :)...

Thanks Weldrdave. It certainly resembles the Fisher, I put a baffle on the pipe and it was too much, needed to run fairly wide open. I did a Google search the other night but not much success. I'll continue on. Although the first night I did have hot coals 7.5 hrs later...

^^ This one was in my family for decades. I burned it for ~12 years. Good solid stove.

Nice pics fellows. my little Sierra really does crank out some heat. Thanks. If you get a chance when the stove is down would you mind to take a picture of the baffle of sorts? Thanks.

Sliding door closes exhaust outlet directly into pipe. image.jpeg
Baffle is channel piece welded to angle and top piece that direct exhaust up and around then behind part where door is into pipe. image.jpeg

My inlaws have that stove...it does make some heat, too bad a full 50% goes up the chimney.
Did you make and add that? Looks a whole lot better than the "baffle" in the inlaws Sierra...
Edit: Never mind, I just noticed the upper handle, I think you have the Classic Turbo Burn 2000T.
I believe my IL have the older, more basic "campfire in a metal box" Hearthstone Classic

I've been looking for a similar stove and missed out on a pretty nice Fischer this AM. Ticked me off! It was a Mama bear I am fairly sure. It was only posted on CL for about 8 hours before I inquired. It went fast.

Anyone know a a good deal on one? Any Fischer at all I'd entertain or Sierras or the likes. Thanks I live close to the OP but my trucks have wheels and I'd travel some depending.

I know this is an old thread but here are a couple of pictures of my Sierra stove. Parents bought it for me about 35 years ago. Heating my house as I type. Installed a simple plate steel baffle last season and it's working great!

Built by "Self-Sufficiency Products" ; (Jim Cook) One Apppletree Square Minneapolis, Minnesota. Sierra is the stove name, not company name, and is not related to Sierra Products Inc. NV that makes the current Sierra Stove since original trademark expired.

Designed for farm use. Builder suggested loading at night and turning down air dampers for around the clock burn. Like a Fisher, they burn down to fine ash in the front near air intakes leaving coals and charcoal at the rear. This is due to the updraft principal used with the low mounted air intakes, another feature the Fisher patent didn't withstand in a patent infringement case. Removing ash from the front each day before raking coal pile ahead to load on prevents the need for allowing it to go out for ash removal. This is the best burning practice for any stove operated 24/7 and this updraft design aids in preventing air from reaching the rear. The deep single door door stoves are best suited for this type burning. Like any fire bricked stove, allow 1 inch ash on bottom at all times.

The first two models made in 1977 were the Sierra 150 and Sierra 300.
    150 is 16" wide X 24" deep and takes logs to 22"
    300 is 18" wide X 32" deep and takes logs to 30"
With measurements of your stove I can give you more details.
