I am new to a wood burning stove. In the house I moved into, there is a Brunco Hearthglow installed. Insurance would like the serial number. The plate on the back is not readable, but there is a number that is stamped in the plate. Would that stamped number be the serial number? The number is 4 digits long. Any help would be great! Thanks

Not sure I can help you. Some pictures might get some bites for assistance though.
    Welcome and hang around.
But seriously, some pictures might help.

Piece of paper and a pencil and try getting a etching off of it. I've done this to get tag numbers off of older cars where the numbers aren't legible.
