We have a friend who lives in a new neighborhood right behind us. They had a bunch of trees cut down to make room for their new pool install. He asked if my son wanted the wood for his business (all oak and nothing too big around.) The tree company chipped a lot of the smaller stuff unfortunately but they did leave what looks to be close to 3-3.5 cords. I had some time after school today so I started on the pile of logs. The 391 made quick work of it and I had just enough time before dinner to get it loaded up. Have about 1.5 cords or a tad more on the truck. This score will put his stock up to about 4 cords to be split.

I have no means to move/load the logs where they are but if I got a lot of wood like this, I would.

I was thinking it would be mighty nice to cut and split the whole batch in a day. That's how my brain works. :D

Nice score jrider 's kid! Don't rent a Dyna for those logs, I tried that and it failed on a grand scale. You certainly know how to make firewood, use your better judgement!

It absolutely would but he needs it gone asap and I don't have time to split it right now.

Absolutely love my son's appreciation for firewood. We stacked the rounds up the other day and every time he goes near them he takes a deep breath and tells me how much he loves the smell of white oak!

Had a little time after school today to finish up this score. Got a tad over a cord cut and loaded up quickly. I don’t get much saw time this time of year so it felt good.

Joe does he hand split at all? Too young or never tried it? Some nice hand splitting wood there. I remember swinging the ax as a kid.
