I read an article a few months ago about Remington ammo getting back into business. This one follows up on that and went into more detail. It's good news, that's for sure. One unfortunate step back was the ban of new imports from Russia. It wasn't aimed at ammo, on the first look, but a lot of ammo comes from Russia, so while we get back Remington, we just lost all the Russian ammo that Americans used to buy. This is not just Russian chamberings either, 9mm, .45, 5.56 etc will not be allowed to be imported soon. According to this article, 40% of the ammo sold in the US originates in Russia. Russian Ammo Imports Halted, May Send Demand, Prices and Shortages to New Levels - Guns and Ammo Not good for the ammunition shortage at all.
A little off-topic- Sportsmans Guide has 6.5 Grendel ammo, Wolf 100gr. First time I've seen it in awhile. Cheap price also, considering the times. stihl sawing , better stock up, it won't be available once it's gone.
Been trying to get stocked up on shotgun ammo for deer and rabbit season....but it hasn't been easy. 20G slugs were extremely hard to find....even 12G 7.5 is harder to find than it should be. Went dove hunting last night and burned a box of ammo...never used to have to worry about finding bird shot...but here we are.
10 years ago a good buddy of mine started acquiring an obscene amount of ammo. He kept at it almost weekly for a long time, only stopping a year and a half ago when people started panicking. I always thought he was nuts. Now, not so much.
