We were working on some fence lines at work earlyer this week and my boss said I could have a bunch of trees that we took down and there was a big oak that the branches were starting to die on so he said I could cut that one also. So I headed out today and worked on it Good size red oak, but my boss did offer some help... 7530 premium, 180hp. Got it all limbed out then used the loader to bring it all up along the field drive right by the road. Also brought up 2 basswood and 2 I'm not sure what they are. The main trunk. Brush all pushed out of the field. All ready to back the truck up to, cut to size and load! When I get that cleaned up I also have 5 popple trees cut down out there to bring up.
Thats a biggun. Nice to have that kind of help with a tree that size. Always fun cutting with some snow cover in the crisp Winter air.
Dang! What an awesome score. I'm green with envy. You have a good amount of wood on the ground. That oak will produce a good clip of splits.
It is, I am very fortunate to have the bosses I do. I do like cutting in the winter, was in the mid 30s today though, I had on my hoody and coat and quickly shed the coat and worked most of the day just in my hoody and was still sweating haha. It is going to make a big pile of splits and I love splitting red oak, normally the isocore can do quick work on red oak, hope it stays true on this tree!
That's an awesome score. My boss would want me to pay him to fell it and then charge me a rental fee for the use of the tractor.
Actually when we were out cutting earlyer this week it was me and the boss and when i dropped the first 4 trees he told me to limb them out right away and he would help pile the limbs offs the field as it will be easier going with 2 then just by my self, and that was all on the clock then!
Made quick business of those! That’s pretty sweet that he came out with the loader to give you a hand.
Nice score Redneckchevy ! Sounds like good folks to work for. I'd rather burn Diesel than calories any day.
