So not really fire wood per say but wanted to share anyway. Had these logs for a couple years and decided last night I was going to cut it up super short and split it to small fire starting lengths. Cut o slab out of it and man I forgot how beautiful this stuff is , and I love the smell too ! Guess I will try and find something more creative to do with it. May try and mill it out myself and make a shelf or bench or something.
I love cedar. I had a few logs hanging around and when buzz-saw got his mill we turned them into boards. Have had a few more scores of them since. I does make some gorgeous boards. The poor quility wood becomes kindling. Here's a recent one. Now I’m Scrounging Softwood! Check out the milling section of the forum as weve posted threads.
Fun stuff to mill. Every log is a surprise when you slice them open. You never know what the inside looks like, but they are full of character.
I've seen little slabs of heartwood for sale the size of a thin bar of soap for sock drawer(s). Sock and tie organizers.
