I approach this, for myself, not on the monetary value of the saw, but how much I enjoy that saw or figure I will once completed. Within reason on the money part obviously. If I can buy a nice runner for less than rebuilding an old saw, I will go that route.
I like all oem saws. Can you get all the oem parts you need, or a parts saw? I think Scotty is a 020 fan.

Very nice. He's done 4 saws for me so far and if CAD rears it's ugly head, he will do the next ones too.
