Rainy days and Mondays always get me down...but a wood score cheers me up!

I was driving home from visiting my mother yesterday evening and took a route that i havent traveled in a while and happened upon this. It was raining heavily and i had the other car otherwise this might be in the "car hoarding thread". (Mental note to self...free wood on Monday)
Rain early this morning stopped and it dried a bit so i made a B line after it. About a mile up from my honey hole. All cherry cut to short lengths, but green and clean and most needing one whack to split.

IMG_0319.JPG Im guessing there was more splits/noodled logs based on the sign and sawdust/wood crumbs. I left this pile as i have WAY TOO much wood to noodle already. It was sugar maple with some rot.

Gonna have to make another bin for shorts and nuggets, but thats not a bad thing!

I must confess I passed on a pile of black birch saplings in my neighbors driveway this afternoon on the way home from work. Maybe if it wasn’t sleeting out..,
