Got the tree down that one was a tuff fell trying to miss the fences but all went well. The hinge was huge I may be a little out of practice... Been a few weeks.
I’ve been REALLLLY bad about sharpening the chains lately... Just no time so today I hit a few just to be sure I had what was needed for the job. I’d forgot how nice and smooth the 352 is it’s the perfect lite saw.... That bad boy just cuts. I got the 590 a good workout too. That ash was rock hard and dead. The core of the tree in the back was so hard I had a moment wondering if it was elm! I am amazed at just how much work that tree took. It’s not in the pictures but directly in front of the trees is a fence and off to the side about 5’ from where the top of the tree is two more fences. if I had gone about 5’ In either direction there’d be missing fence line. ‘Twas a close one! The echos did good today!
I removed three dead ash trees here at the house this week too, down behind my main stacks along the stream. They've been dead for several years now, I just have been too busy dealing with everyone else's trees to mess with them. One led to a sprained wrist, that's another story!! Looking good, Pete! Hope all has been well, brother.
Wow Pete, those other trees will be a mess to get out of there they way they are bent. Glad I don't have to cut in there.
Doing good brother! Very busy here too.... This is the first morning I’ve been able to sleep in for a few weeks! I was up till almost 3am so it may not be considered sleeping in. Hope your wrist heels fast! These trees are on some seriously steep slopes and the woods are full of ash and box elder. The box elder is INSANE it all grew at right angles from the wind and the dead box elders are almost all widow makers. I’m glad all I’m doing here are these two ash!
