They are crapping all over the porches and the cat was getting twitchy. One of my boys woke me up when he came home late one night from work. He told me there were a bunch of coons in the Mulberry tree. The .17 took the first five then the shotgun had to get the coons high in the tree in thick foliage. The boys and I had a good bonding moment.
Back in a previous life, I lived in the west end of the Toronto area and the trash bandits were out of control. The green peacers made sure everyone's hands were tied and we couldnt touch the things. They multiply as fast as rabbits around there. Now.....Im very happy to live far enough north that I dont have to worry about the darned things destroying my garden and spreading garbage all over the lawn if its put out the night before. Its somewhat satifying seeing all the ones you toasted Ohiostihl.
Looks like you might have REALLY put a dent in the coon population! Way to go!! Betting with getting rid of that many you might have solved your problem. For now, lol. I had the same problem with possums last year. Our cat actually killed one young one, then i started trapping and ''dispatching'' them as i caught them, total for last year 12 including the ''big momma'' Thirteen in all, and, since then no more possum problems. As far as i know, and i've got a pretty savvy ''standard '' in size Doxie that really tracks them down fast.
Nah, not a case for duck tape here. Your hair would stick to the edges. And it would just look silly on the outside.
looks like mom,dad,emma,john boy,miss elly,sara jean,henry,bobby,cooter,frank the midget,and carl james
We thinned out the coons. Next on the list are the fish. When I was young our pond had a moss issue so Dad tossed some grass carp in the pond to eat the moss. Now the pond looks barren and the fish are starving. The carp turn around in the pond and clouds of mud float around the pond and it stays muddy. I tossed some fish food out and shot it with the .22. The others caught on pretty fast.
Yippy! Wood chucks eliminated from state protection here just in the last couple months- springer dispatched one last Sunday. Juvenile , hay field cut - I will be watching
