Any recommendations for a good quality tarp? Not a big fan of the crappy blue ones. Thinking about trying one of the brown ones from Tarps Plus. A little pricey but..."The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of a low price is forgotten."
I'm not sure of the name on the ones I've been using lately but they have a heavy green side (the outer) and a medium brown colored inner. Full plastic grommets on the edges and the material has a heavy weight to it. They have outlasted the blue ones by far. I can't even tell you what I paid because they are still in use since like 6 years ago.
http://www.ysbw.com/Clear-Heavy-Duty-Plastic-Greenhouse-Tarps-s/104.htm I like em. Have used them for a couple years now. Tough.
Do you really need "quality tarps" for covering firewood? To me, I want the cheapest option available for this usage. Almost anything should be adequate for many yrs of service.
Ive got some blue ones that have hardly been used that are falling apart. I just want something that will last for a few years.
HD runs camo tarps twice a year 50% off and they have good reviews. Doesn't help you immediately but I thought I might mention it if it could be helpful.
I use the grey ones and the green ones from HB with a couple of years service. Right now HB has a 25% coupons over Easter weekend.
Northern Tool used to have cordura tarps. Not sure they still do. My father bought one 10+ years ago and aside from a couple mouse holes, it's still holding up fine through year-round use.
Thought i read somewhere in here that its best to leave stacks uncovered until fall. Is this correct, or am i remembering wrong?
I use tarps from these guys... http://www.tarpsonline.com/tarps/allpoly.aspx I get the brown ones, so far up to 2 years on my woodstack (take off in the summer until fall).
