As some of you may already know several months ago I began having issues with my chainsaw. After talking to some of you fine folks on trying to troubleshoot it someone reached out to me and passed along an act of kindness that till this day has left me speechless and humbled.

Backwoods Savage reached out to me and indicated because of the many fine folks on this forum that he was recently a new proud owner of a Stihl chainsaw he had been looking at for quite some time and in turn he wanted to donate his MS290 to someone in need and who would really appreciate it. I was utterly blow away and stunned to say the least. It was with the utmost honor and respect that I graciously accepted this act of kindness. I was not able to attend this past N.E. g2g to meet and accept the saw in person however through some other fine folks on the forum WeldrDave we were able to make the exchange. And because of this act of kindness and generosity I had the honor and pleasure of meeting WeldrDave and his lovely wife as well.

To receive such a generous gift has left my family and I just speechless. But to receive such an item from Backwoods Savage and knowing a good man once owned and operated this saw is something I will treasure and remember for a lifetime. It took me a few months but I wanted to do something a little special in his honor and I finally was able to complete it, see pics below!

For all the wrong in the world and for all the bad and ugly that goes on there is still GOOD in this world and this is just one example. When the moment is right I look to learn from Dennis's example and pay forward to someone in need. Probably the most rewarding of this whole experience is I feel I have gained a friend and I look forward to meeting and shaking his hand. As for the saw getting good use, well I've been at it just about every weekend and haven't slowed down. Working on that 3yr plan!!

If any of you saw experts can direct me to a new bar for this saw, I will buy it and send Dennis's old one back!

18" .325 .063 and Iirc, I may have one of those at the shop brand new but out of the box I can sell cheaper than new. It's a new take off of the 271 farm boss.

That is really generous of you guys it truly is. But it's the least I can do is send Dennis back the bar. I will do this sooner rather than later for sure and I will PM you Dennis when she's on her way back home :handshake:

Hey Canadian border VT , my apologies I did see your post but wasn't 100% sure of the pitch and I didn't put 2 and 2 together until just now, am a slow learner, lol. Very generous thought and offer as well, thank you!
