So we have had off and on luck keeping the critters out of our Blueberry patch, but this year we had a diferent pest. EARWIGS!!! We put up bird netting just before the berrys start to ripen. This keeps the birds off the plants. Still have the occasional chipmunk, which I dispatch when necessary. But earwigs? A good percentage of our crop this year was damaged by them. Never had this happen in 10 years! Was it the really wet weather? We had inches and inches of rain late this summer with lots of flooding. Seems like other insect are more plentiful also. What to do?

Can't help with protecting the berries, but I've noticed more earwigs this year. Might be the wet weather.
