Has anyone from the forum that is getting an IS this summer picking it up anytime soon? I was just trying to get some insight on the process from someone who had theirs already. I'm not picking mine up until late September early October. I know they have started shipping already, anyone??

Thanks Dennis, I've been keeping an arms length away. Just want to see other folks experiences, it's an exciting time coming up.

Went to the factory today to pay the balance on the stove, and asked about the delivery date. When I ordered it in late May my order acknowledgement indicated a late August date when it would be done, and Jamie said today that they're on schedule.
Really enjoy it when I get the chance to drop in, especially when it's for some legitimate business, and not just drooling over their stoves in the showroom. The 1864 soapstone stove made in NH is very cool.

If they were a little closer to me I would drop in all the time. As it is now it will be a 2.5 hr ride up to pick up the IS and maybe some chit chat time with the crew there, maybe some lunch and then back to Mass. I'm gonna make a day out of it.
Like Brian K said, it looks like they did all the simple orders first, no side plates, no burn plates etc.
Have you picked out design for your plates yet?

Yup, we're getting the rooster/chicken stove. Gonna look a bit gaudy with copper on black, but I'm okay with that. It'll help get some buy-in from the whole family, since we just got backyard chickens, and our kids love them. But boy, that stove is a big beast, no matter what the decoration! Seeing it in person reminded me again of how well it should heat our house.

Have you chosen? I'm interested to hear what people are getting. Jamie said Brian's fleur de lis is the most popular design so far.

Wish we lived closer, or better yet, the Woodstock plant was closer to us! I'd definitely be paying them some more visits. As it is we haven't been there for a couple years now. But, we were with the crew in DC last fall.

My wife is toying around with some silhouettes of our boxers (dogs not the garments) for the side panels and something simple for the middle burner. Not sure about the andirons yet. I'm going with all charcoal on the color.

Mine is being shipped to Ohio. They estimated about 4-5 weeks, which was 2 weeks ago. Won't be long now. :)

Looking forward to that first fire.

Is your stove the simple basic one or did you get the side plates and artwork?

Actually, its not that they started with simple orders first. They started with charcoal color bodies first. (Maybe that's the most common body color being ordered?)

Mine happens to have a charcoal body, so ours is supposed to ship soon.

Side plates, soapstone liner and ash drawer. Charcoal body with moss green accents. The artwork was the white tailed deer.

Cool, I gotta tell my daughter that. It's her design. When we took the Beta stove back to Woodstock in the spring, Tom gave us that first test cut Fleur de lis that they had painted gold and had on the blog last September. My daughter is going to hang it in her dorm room when she starts college later this month.

Don't be afraid to contact Woodstock as they have a great artist who might help you out on that one.

Our stove will have to be shipped as I don't have time to road trip for Tennessee. We went with the artwork sides, ash pan, soapstone liner and panels etc. We are anxiously waiting for a delivery date so I can get started with the demo of the gas logs and the install of the flue etc. Ours will look like this.

Beautiful stove Bob. That was my second choice. Looking forward to pics when you get it installed.
