I was using a laptop. It occurred at any time I clicked a link for a thread or forum. The screen would go blank. I only had problems with this site.
We have had a few isolated issues with server overload, maybe that is to blame. It also could have been a gateway between the server and your ISP. Or it could have been a caching issue with your laptop's browser. They are usually short lived. Anyway, server upgrades are already being discussed.
Glad it was temporary. Too many variables to say for sure what it was, but if it was a bandwidth problem then that is something we are working on.
Server upgrades, wow. The site is growing. Trying a different browser (Firefox/IE/Chrome) in cases when a page won't display can quickly tell you if it is a browser issue on your computer or a problem with the site overall.
I'm changing this to a non-issue since it was a fleeting thing that seems to have resolved itself. I use the labels on these threads to sort through unresolved issues so nothing gets lost long term, so the change is for myself really.
Having problems again ever since the major overhaul of the site "look". Logging on, pulling up pages, threads not working, and the site freezing.
I have an issue from time to time. It won't load the reply box at the bottom. If I hit the reply button or whatever it says error. It will only last a few minutes and will get it on my 2 different mobile browsers. One being chrome.
Same here. Loads to a blank page or errors out. Took me 30 mins to get this page loaded by reloading many times. Started last night.
If your WiFi connection isn't fast enough, or if the signal is weak, you will have this problem. I live in a 4G only area and have fast WiFi (my son NEEDS it to play and host games for Xbox and Playstation) and have never had a page not fully load, or be missing the reply box. Most likely signal strength on your end and/or connection speed.
I have had it in the past on another forum back when I had only a 3g connection. It has a lot to do with you connection speed-- just having "high speed" and wifi doesn't mean anything-- we had to upgrade our web connection quite a bit to get youtube to load without issues.
My nephew plays xbox live at my house when he is there. I watch youtube without issue and watch tv shows sometimes over it? Maybe it is mine?? I will speed test it this evening.
I agree. That is just as important as signal/speed. Just because you have a good provider, or signal? The device (whether it's a PC, laptop, phone, etc) can be a large part of it. If it can't utilize the signal in an effective and efficient manner? Then you can have the fastest service in the world and it wouldn't help. A lot goes into it (the actual provider, device, signal strength, speed, etc)
