We were just getting the chicken cutlets ready to cook when the power went out around 4, we decided that we would cook them on the Liberty, they turned out great.

I loaded up the stove with some Cherry, put some trivets down to put the skillet on an started cooking.

We had a nice meal and the power came back on just after 9 pm.

The Liberty's 2 surfaces are great aren't they Woods? Lower gets plenty hot for cooking and the top is perfect to keep stuff warm.

The only problem we had was our other skillets were bigger or smaller then what we needed for a second skillet, I'll be picking up another skillet the same size that we used.

I have a teapot that works on there just fine without a trivet but.
I need to get some trivets.
What would be the best to get at a reasonable price, just cast iron or what?

That situation couldn't have turned out any better, the woodstove is already hot and ready to cook your dinner, you get a candle lit table and you got a photo op all in one.

We'll be cooking some sausage on the wood stove tonight with some onions, pics tonight.

We bought a second ten inch skillet (http://www.lodgemfg.com/ ) so we could have two going at once, American Made bought at the local True Value.

I think it was all sweet sausage, if I had bought it we would've had some hot sausage.......a different brand too, I like this better.

Subject: Toast on the Liberty / We cleaned the trivets off...... rubbed some veggie oil on them, we had a few slices for a trial run which turned out better than we expected.
