Please keep Kenis (Dexterday) at the front of your prayers..

Guys and gals, one of our own here at FHC DexterDay, is very sick and needs all the prayers he can get.

Kenis is a good friend and has been with me since the beginning here at FHC, he hasn't been here much in recent years because of his work schedule and family. I've come to know him personally and care deeply about him and his family. Here's some words from his wife Jenn about his current situation...

Jenn wrote this evening on Facebook:

"I have been somewhat vague because there are many unknowns right now and I have been totally overwhelmed with information and a huge outpouring of love and prayers.

Long story short, Kenis is in liver failure and kidney failure. He will need a transplant if he can get to the three month mark and can be added to the transplant list. The positives are that he is only 40, is newly diagnosed, and has a very poor survivability rate as of now. That should help bump him up on the list. Yes, we are (were) both daily drinkers but something went horribly wrong seemingly quickly. Once he has been alcohol free for 3 months he can be added to the list. I really feel like a variety of factors have combine to create the perfect storm in his body. He must have known how sick he was but was studdorn and hid it from me because we had a family vacation planned this week and said he didnt want to ruin the vacation for the kids. We ended up coming home early to get him to the ER. He woke up and showered and walked into the ER on his own and within few hours was transferred by ambulance to a larger hospital and then moved quickly from a regular room to the ICU. That is not how I expected yesterday to go.

He has a great team of doctors and nurses working together to help save his live. Unfortunately, chances are not great but he is fighting and even said "I don't want to die" randomly while getting his first dialysis treatment this afternoon. He is fighting and we are fighting for him. I refuse to lose the love of my life.

All of the prayer chains, messages, calls, visits, and offers to help have not gone unnoticed and are appreciated more that I could ever express. Please keep them coming and know we feel the support and love coming from ALL directions.

He had a hard day and had a lot of procedures but his doctors assure us they are fighting so hard because he is so strong and young. We are not willing to give up. Pray, pray, pray for a miracle.

Side note: We are trying to keep things as normal as possible for the kids and Kayla is aware that her daddy is really sick and will be in the hopsital for as long as is needed but is not aware of the severity but she is a smart kid and probably knows more than she lets on. She texted me today and said "Okay just tell him I love him and to be nice to the nurses, doctors, ect. Also to stay positive and keep his head high "

When he was stressed at work she would leave him notes to see in the morning telling him to have happy vibes and to hold his head high. She always tells me she is his favorite girl and I can't compete. Anyone who knows Kenis knows how much he loves his kids. Please pray for them to stay strong. We both live and breathe for both of them."

I'm asking all who've come to know Kenis to please pray for a miracle for him and his family. I'll try to keep this post updated as the info comes available to me.

Will be praying for our dear friend. Looks like he won't be at this year's GTG but we'll all be thinking of him.
