Since building the shed two years ago I've only had a billboard tarp stretched across the top as roofing. It's held up great but started to show a few leaks here and there this winter. I've been on the lookout for some used roofing and the wife of my friend who passed away recently had asked for some help cleaning her property up for an appraisal. I noticed a pile of tan, steel roofing out back and asked her if she planned on using it or if i could give her something for it. She insisted that i take it for free. So today I swung down there and loaded up 22, 12ft sheets plus a few scraps. Gonna pull the billboard tarp off tomorrow and start laying out the sheets!
Great score I got 8 pieces need 6 more to finish a breezeway off back of garage can never have enough covered storage!
I was gonna put the mrs on the task of removing the billboard tarp but today's her bday. Just couldn't do it lol. I forgot to add that ill have enough extra to roof another section of shed. Guess i should get buildin huh
Happy Birthday Mrs Smokinpiney ... that roofing goes down pretty slick. So much better when it's free...
Great free roofing. Make your birthday bride work on her special day? Man, that could've ended badly for you
UH OH! This is going to strike up a heated debate. Nice score. I need to find some myself. Either that or some EPDM rubber roofing.
Man i love steel roofing. It goes up in no time! A friend of mine stopped over this mornin and we got the billboard tarp off and the steel down in less than two hours.
Good job-looks great! It'll hold up forever and will sound nice from the back porch when its raining! Nice score in the name of hoarding!
Yep! All the creases where it was folded were starting to crack and show some holes. It worked well for a temporary roof. Oh and dont pay attention to the screws scattered all over the roof. I had to screw it down in alot of the existing holes. Someone went crazy when they installed it before
