UPDATE! I went to HD today to pick up more Lacrete but there weren't any in the store or stored outside. They had a lot of the junk Northeast Pellets. I hope they get more but I'm not optimistic.

Yes I was. They only had a couple of broken bags inside the store, but I went out to the garden center and found a couple of open pallets, under cover, and the bags weren't trashed.

I just put the last bag of Okie Platinums (which have been burning pretty dang hot) in the P43, so these will go in next and I'll see how they perform.

You find what appears to be more ash.
however, as mentioned before, I think it is a lot more fluffy,
    not as dense.
Comapare to what an equal amount of snow would look like
Fluffy, compared to some of that concrete we had a while back.

I'm burning LaCretes now.. I like them.
    Using those and Matras presently..

The Okie Plats are fairly ashy, but run hot so I don't really mind. The thing I do mind about them is the price, which is why I only pamper myself when I can buy 10 bags at 25% off.

I didn't get any from HD, but I did get 10 bags for $45 off CL this August. That is the highest price I've paid per bag off CL, but I've heard so much about them that I figured it would be my only chance to get some. They are currently in my garage waiting for me to bring them in when the time is right.

Back to La Crete's; poured my first bag into the hopper, and very little dust. There were a few super long pieces in there, but I'm sure they will go thru just fine. They aren't as light as the Okie Plats (which are very blond), but not as dark as MWPs.

My top pellet of the season. Like you mentioned very little fines , I didn’t see anything over an inch .They are burning very clean and hot and availability has been good. My second choice is Maine Wood Pellets for similar reasons except more ash of course.

The P43 worked its way to the Lacretes. I don't do a scientific experiment, in fact I don't even clean the stove before judging new (to me) pellets. All temps that I have is from wedging an oven thermometer between the door and the lip over the top of the distribution tubes, just off-center of the firebox door. My verdict on them is:

Freaking hot! I have never had the thermometer get to 300* before. Fireside Platinums and this year's Okie Platinums burned around 275 - and those were my top temps before (disclaimer: other hot pellets I've had, but haven't measured in the P43 are Vermonts, Hamers and Cubex). TSC MWPs tend to burn in the 235-240 range.

I believe the Keene HD is selling the 1.2 ton pallets at $300 - which if I could fit that much in my truck would have me buying some (ok, I don't have room for another ton, much less an oversized ton at the moment).

Go ahead - you know you want to :D

I had to lower my feed rate from 3 to 2. The stove would start shutting down when the thermostat (set at 69*) triggered (it's in my office where I spend my days). But by the time the stove shut down, the room temperature would overshoot and I'd be sweating. I was over hot flashes many years ago - have no desire to experience them from artificial means.

Nice! Now I'm kicking myself for not grabbing a few bags whilst there. Would have been good for the overnight burns down in the flatlands.

Looks like we might finally have some weather requiring the stove heat from January 20 on. I'm about a 30 bags in for season so far.

I'm in plaistow, I don't know why but the ugliest bags seem to be the best pellets.
