Jumped into the pellet grill game. I haven’t done much smoking yet but this is an awesome grill so far.

Looking at getting a vertical pellet smoker myself. Might get the pit boss 4 series just because of price and availability around here.
I run a char griller barrel smoker with charcoal and wood chunks at the moment and it does good, just lots of watching it to keep things under control. :binoculars:

Thats what I love about pellet smokers. I can throw whatever I want on and not have to really worry about it while I'm doing other things.

As if the smoker gods needed a laugh..... my pit boss went down. So far, my experience with their customer service has been non existent. After two phone calls and an email, I haven't heard back. I am researching a new one and have been looking at either a grilla grill silverbac or a rec tec rt 590. Anyone have experiences they could share?

I don't know other brands but husband bought a Pit Boss ~2016. It needed repair too, he gave up and now smokes/grills in it with charcoal briquettes.

Just received my RT 700, still have to put it together and fire it up. From what I hear Rec Tec customer service is top notch, and they have tons of customer reviews of their grills on their site.
I was torn between Grilla and Rec Tec, my buddy picked up a Grilla silver back, he will have it installed in his backyard Island. Can’t wait to get his option on it. Grilla looks like a solid company as well.

I like the conversion idea wildwest. I'm now trying to convince my wife we should do the same lol. I did finally hear back and Danson's (Pitboss parent company) is sending a new auger motor but still looking as well. Thats what I found out to mikeyb. Both companies seem to have nothing but great reviews so it kind of seems your good with either but wanted to hear from some peeps on them too.

When I put my rt590 together I thought the same thing. The quality and weight of the material is impressive. Your going to enjoy it. Just a heads up, the WiFi connection needs to be on 2.4G, Both your RecTec and mobile device on the same network. Once setup it’s great. I can monitor and adjust my smoker when I’m several hours away from the house.
