Now I just need to spray the firebox with a light coat of oil and it will be ready to fire up in the Fall.

So these things have no bricks or anything? Just metal on the inside?

    Nice job!

I use old drain oil in my OWB for the summer.

Nope, no fire bricks. On the other side of that metal firebox you are looking at is water.

I worked my azz off cleaning mine out last 2 summers
Prior owner burned garbage and the entire back under the smoke dam was melted chit stuck to floor and walls. 8” thick tapered in probably 14-16”. Used a heavy bar with a 3” flat edge to poke pry and scrape being careful not to ding the steel to hard. What a mess.finaly got the last bit out of a corner this year.
