Have just made it to 1 year ahead on split and stacked fire wood. Will be starting on year two soon! I have stacks here and there on my property, so at some point I have to move them to a central location, but I am getting there! Love the feeling of getting ahead. Confident I will be 2 years ahead this year...if I can get enough time off work this year I can hopefully squeeze in a stash for the 3rd year. I just know once I make the 3 year mark it's gonna be easier to stay ahead of the game!
Great! Once you reach the 3rd year, you can slouch off again and only do one years worth at a time....unless….you find a real easy convenient scrounge!
Am with ya.......!! Being my 1st burning season I guesstimating 2 - 3 cords is what I will have burned this winter. I am going to plan on the high end and say 3 cords for my usage. I've got about 4 1/2 cords out back, looking to close in on 2yrs ahead soon. I have some trees I need to drop on my property so I should be pretty close soon enough. What I need is wood other than oak so I can burn it sooner.
