Here's my cat next to a good sized burl at the base of one of the biggest red oaks in my forest. I love this tree and hope it outlives me, but if it should die I really want to see the inside of this burl. Maybe a complete gem or maybe just punky ingrown bark.

Very nice! That tree must have some age on it.

That tree has just been sitting on it's butt all these years. I think that is it's butt. What else could it be???

Yes, it's a big one for sure. Most of the oldest trees in my woods are 75-100 y.o. This property used to be managed for lumber for the local sawmill.
