Father’s Day storm victim I decided to work on yesterday. Was in the 40s in the morning and I took advantage. Nice size oak tree , got a good amount done. New HT105 pole saw came in real handy too. Crazy looking growth to it , never seen the likes. Right after trunk branches off a limb grew in to one side then back in to other. Also took a limb to tractor radiator so had to cut the day short. Still productive!

Thats a gnarly big one. Kinda cool the freak of nature growth. I call it a siamese twin log. Ran into something similar on a cherry i cut last year.
Looks like quite a bit of work there and a beautiful day to do it. Sucks about the rad but chit happens.
I have hackberry in my woods that have merged with oak. I’ll have to take a pic it’s the weirdest thing.
I am calling it a Bur oak. The bark does not look oak like I know but the leaves , and well the acorns of course are a dead give away!
Yeah, kind of rare to see them - and this one is a monster. I will post some photos after I get trunk cut up to show the scale. Pics didn’t do it justice.
