My local dealer has the MS441 for $999. Is there something about the MS440 that would make it a more desirable or valuable saw?
The 440 is lighter, and mechanically simpler. To many that has a whole lot of appeal. And the 441 is known for being particularly complex. It’s not necessarily bad, but it’s not nearly as straightforward of a machine to work on as the 440 is. I really like my 441. That has a lot to do with the sticker on the top cover. (Its ported) But it really is a nice saw to take out and run when there’s a lot of wood to be cut.
OK. If it was all set up I may have been interested. But, as I just got a 572 recently that is, my wife would hit me in the head with a wedge if I bought another saw.
