In the next few weeks a contact I have is taking down 2 black locust trees. One is about 16-18" and the other one is maybe 24". He's having it cut in 16" lengths, and is going to ask the tree service to noodle the bigger rounds so I can load them into my truck and trailer. If they won't do that, I'll be sure and take my chainsaw with me so I can do it myself. Should be at least a full truck/trailer load, and if there's enough left for at least another full truck load I'll go back! Hoping to end up with at least 1-2 cords after splitting. And yes, it's free except for my fuel cost which I estimate to be around $30-40 for a round trip.
