In the next few weeks a contact I have is taking
down 2 black locust trees. One is about 16-18" and
the other one is maybe 24". He's having it cut
in 16" lengths, and is going to ask the tree service
to noodle the bigger rounds so I can load them into
my truck and trailer. If they won't do that, I'll
be sure and take my chainsaw with me so I can do
it myself. Should be at least a full truck/trailer load,
and if there's enough left for at least another full
truck load I'll go back! Hoping to end up with at
least 1-2 cords after splitting. And yes, it's free except
for my fuel cost which I estimate to be around $30-40 for
    a round trip.

Definitely worth doing! I travel for free wood, if it's good stuff.

Great score. Be sure to post pics in the "Wood Pile" section of the forum. We'd love to see them.

And, you have such a scenic drive to get it.
