Been lurking, 3 years wood burning. After 3 years finally got the hang and good wood! live in East TN and split by hand. 1800 sqft epa stove. 1000 sqft cabin 6 in 12 pitch ceiling. Been great learning trial error and here.
Thanks Grizzly! Will pull up a milk crate. Burning a nice fire drinking a fine adult bev admiring my work/fire!
Welcome Matty... Sounds like a great place you have there in TN... I use to split by hand for years and then joined this site and it cost me the price of a splitter! Do you have access to some woods or are you scrounging?
Thanks for the welcome! Got 15 acres forests to pick from. And plenty from friends property. With out clearing, I don'the think I'll have to buy wood for many yrs.
Welcome aboard, very great place here and has an awesome atmosphere about it. Look forward to you chiming in on threads and sharing your thoughts and we all love pictures!
Welcome Mattyjhp, nice to meet you and happy new years to you and yours! What kind of stove do you run?
Ain't scrounging. But I'll burn uglies to be conservative. Like a mix 80 oak 10 pine 10 poplar. For me makes an easy fire/time.
I burn a lot of uglies right now during the day. I just put a pile of uglies on the porch today. Got one more tote of those to get rid of and they'll be gone. Then I can just burn the nice stuff.
Bought a 1800 sqrt pleasant heart new 200 bucks. Might not be the best, but impressed for event the retail price. Single wall up to roof then stainless packed out. Yes piping co as the more then stove lol
Welcome aboard Matt. It's not the wood that got good after three years, its just that it finally got dried out! (seasoned) But, you already know that.
Love scrounging wood even when I don't have too. Don't know how many times I've filled every inch of space in the Tracker on the way home from work in the am with something blown across the road the county guys love me
Yeah yopper, wet don'the burn!! Figure since no central heat--- I get buy a little over a cord hardwood plus scraps a season. Finally ahead the game. Dry wood goes way further. And this little stoves efficient.
And a big welcome aboard to a fellow yooper, billygoat! I was trying to remember the name of the shop that sells those cudighi pizza bites just north of the Holiday store???
