Smoking pretty bad, esp on startup, thick grey smoke, a small stumble every few seconds...46 hours on it Pics, Thick, black, oily liquid blowing out from around the muffler, and out the exhaust on the frame. Oil on the dipstick looks "milky", hard to see in the pic. The coolant level in the overflow is down. Went and saw the dealer this am, said they could come get it (5 miles) Friday, I said NO, you can come get it today.
Had a mid size Chev pickup years ago that had a seal go, that let coolant get into the oil. I remember that milky oil thing. If there's anything good about your tractor, it's new and under warrantee. I'll bet they'll get on it as soon as they can. Won't want the bad PR. Good luck Dave.
Milky oil means water in the oil...either you submerged it (doubtful) or you have coolant leaking into the oil...don't run it anymore than is absolutely necessary to get it on the trailer back to the dealer (or make them come get it with a rollback) Edit: Just seen you already talked to the dealer...
Brand new diesel? that means teir 4 emissions equipment- I will guess that is where the problem will be found. Yes, you have coolant in oil. If it has a turbo means the intercooler system is bad. personal onion - take a good piece of equipment add emission items and now it is the second most unreliable thing in the world. ( no I do not know what # 1 is but would guess government.)
I agree about the emission equipment mandated by the government being stupid, but this tractor does not have any its only 25hp.
Yeah I don't get it either...filter out the particulates, then dump a bunch of raw fuel on it and burn it all off in a big cloud of blue smoke every once in a while...sounds cleaner to me! Idjits…
Sorry to hear about this, Dave. Can't like it when our equipment doesn't perform like it should, especially new stuff. Hope you can get it fixed quickly
Pretty much agree with others for water in oil other symptoms also seem like head gasket trouble Good luck JB
Tractor has been at the dealer since Monday, I finally got a hold of the service writer yesterday, they haven't had a chance to look at it yet
