I finally converted some of the cash I made from selling limber this winter into this track saw. It will get a workout straightlining a whole bunch of stock very soon. More action shots and feedback to follow. 20200310_201709.jpg 20200310_205650.jpg

I refuse to spend that much, but they sure do make nice tools.

I hear you on that! I did very well selling lumber so it was definitely a "treat."

I've been considering a track saw for plywood/osb, but I don't do much with full sheets anymore. Made my own "guide" and just use a regular circ saw.
Works pretty good, but needs to be clamped.

I’ve got one of those aluminum guides that clamps to the saw plate. Super handy for ripping dimensional lumber or factory edge of plywood.

I’ll be interested in your reviews, that must be a high end saw?

If you’re running it on an extension cord, use a heavy gauge so you don’t burn out the motor. Looks like it only draws 10 amps. But with something like that you can’t be too careful.

That's what I do at the shop. Use sawhorses outside with 2x4's on top, lay sheets on top, clamp down and cut away.

Very nice rig. Do you keep all the lumber you saw as live edge or do you edge with the mill?

Same here, I do some projects with full sheets but not to much so I just use a 6ft level and clamp it. Involves a few extra steps but I only work with them time to time. A track saw would be nice though, congrats on the saw that a fine tool

That is a real nice saw, TOH has made the brand much more well known.

I recently cut two sheets of 3/4" plywood, about in half. At $39 a pop, I was real careful. The cuts came out good, but I was scheming the whole time about how to diy a track.

The Festool would be a real option if I made a living with it.

go to Lowes and buy a piece of 1/8 x 2 x 8 foot aluminum flat stock, thats all I have used the last 20+ years. for 4' crosscut I use a "drywall" type square, I cut the one side of the "T" to the same length as the offset of my circular saw. Line up the edge with your mark and cut.

That is the Cadillac of saws/tools for sure. Congrats! I have a buddy that just bought a Makita (I believe that is what it is) supposedly one step down from yours. He loves it and loves not wrassling sheets on his table saw. Enjoy and look forward to reading a review of this saw.
