T3x Lite,6.5 Creedmoor, Apline Veil, Leupold 4.5-14 x 40. Should come in handy in the Fall for whitetail.
Those Tikkas are probably the smoothest bolt guns made. They shoot amazingly too. Very cool!! Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk
Right, but wonder how much the lite platform adds to felt recoil. I know someone with a lite in 300 WinMag and it is pretty spicy compared to an older 700.
True, light weight doesn't help with recoil, but it also has ports at the end of the barrel as a built in muzzle brake. I personally hunt deer with a Ruger m77 mkII bolt action in 7mm rem mag, so I don't really see how bad a muzzle braked soft shooting creedmoor could be bad on recoil, even with a slightly lighter gun that the OP has vs mine.
Actually, the barrel is threaded and comes w/ a muzzle break and simple cap. Friend wants to put his suppressor on it and see how it shoots. Thank you. I was very torn about the fancy camo vs. plain black synth. I was looking at minimizing recoil since I have rheumatoid arthritis in my shoulders and since this gun will see a lot more time on the range than hunting. I even considered .243, but figured the 6.5 would be more fun for long distance range shooting. Likewise, the 4.5-14 scope is way overkill for hunting on my property, but thought it would be fun at the range.
My dad's Browning BAR mark 2 has the boss system on it on the same fashion. It's very loud with the brake. The non ported end is on it, ever since that one range day.
I took a coyote off the back deck many years ago with a Browning BAR 300 Win Mag with a ported Boss. Lost my hearing for 30 minutes I kid you not. I sold the damm thing after that
They are loud with the Boss. Swap the ported end for the standard non ported one and it's a fine gun. Imagine using that gun with the Boss in a hunting shack with plywood walls. I did, once. Oh boy.
